The Sheringham 1940’s Weekend – Britain’s most spectacular historical celebration – is absolutely awe-inspiring and a real sight to see.

This amazing festival draws 40,000 excited visitors and locals every year, all ready to step back into wartime Britain. What began as a small gathering nearly quarter of a century ago has grown into an extraordinary three-day spectacle, bringing together the town’s pubs, clubs, shops and churches into a lively network of community spirit.

The magic unfolds moment by moment – if you’re there at the right time, a magnificent Lancaster bomber should rumble overhead, or even a Spitfire, and vintage military vehicles will definitely roll proudly through the streets below.

You’ll be treated to everything from toe-tapping live music (literally) to fascinating historical displays, plus the chance to win £330 worth of prizes in the free ration book competition.

Fancy donning your best 1940’s gear? You won’t be the only one!

Though there’s absolutely no pressure to dress up (phew I say!) plenty of visitors simply come to soak up the incredible atmosphere. But what a treat it was to see all those who really go to town with their costumes, it’s amazing!

And thanks to the North Norfolk Railway’s special services between Sheringham and Holt, you won’t miss a single moment of this fantastic celebration of Britain’s wartime spirit.

Important Travel Information and Instructions

Contact Information

To ensure you receive your travel reminder, please remember to send a text message to the group mobile number: 07304 044920. This will allow us to store your number in advance and make sure your reminder is sent in a timely manner. If you have chosen to pay in two it enables me to send you via whatsapp all payment details.  It is your responsibility to message me. We also create a WhatsApp group for each event for any updates – this gets deleted once the event is over.

Pick Up Points and Travel Reminders

Before completing your booking, you will be asked to select your preferred pick up point and time. It is important to make a note of your chosen pick up location and time, as reminders for your pick up will not be sent until the day before travel.

Providing Additional Information

During the checkout process, there is a ‘note’ box available. Please use this space to share any information you would like us to have prior to your journey. If you do not travel well by coach or require a seat nearer the front, please include this request at the time of booking. While every effort will be made to accommodate seating preferences, we cannot guarantee a front seat due to the high number of similar requests.

Order Confirmation and Tickets

After you have placed your order, you will receive a computer-generated confirmation email.  Please note that, although this email may indicate that tickets are attached, these are not your entry tickets. All tickets are held by us and will be handed to you as you board the coach.

Special Requests

If you have any special requests, we will always do our best to accommodate them. However, please understand that we cannot guarantee all requests will be fulfilled.

Travel Plans and Reminders

No detailed travel plans will be sent out in advance. Instead, a reminder will be sent to your mobile phone the day before your scheduled travel. It is therefore essential that the lead booker’s name and mobile number provided on your order are those of the person actually travelling.

Park at the rear of the store where there are no restrictions – we will pick up at the bus stop opposite the petrol station as you drive into Tesco

GREAT ASHBY BUDGENS – SG1 6NH

The coach will pick up at the entrance of the free car park

LYTTONS WAY SG1 1XT – either outside railway station or opposite railway station

HATFIELD GALLERIA AL10 OXY – park Mcdonalds side – walk out to main road and at the side of the building by The Odeon and opposite the Aldi sign you will find the bus stop

BOREHAMWOOD BARNET LANE WD6 2RN – bus stop is on the left as you turn right on A1 by Morrisons
