TRIP ON THE WAVERLEY PADDLE STEAMER

The Waverley Paddle Steamer is the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer, rich in history and full of charm. In 2024, the Waverley will operate from Friday 17th May until Sunday 20th October. With sailings from over 60 ports and piers throughout Great Britain, you can experience the ever-changing coastal landscape.
Experience the authentic charm of a real steamship as you hear the telegraph ring, witness the engines graceful motion and sense the gentle aroma of hot oil and steam. You can even watch the paddles turning through the portholes!
Onboard the Waverley Paddle Steamer
Step back in time and enjoy the traditional dining saloon and period lounges which offer a range of eating and drinking options including:
- Waverley’s Dining Saloon, situated on the Main Deck offering a range of snacks and hot food. You either can sit in the Dining Saloon or take away your purchases to other areas of the ship.
- The Caledonia Tea Bar on the Promenade Deck offers a range of hot and cold drinks, soup, sandwiches, snacks, cakes and ice cream.
- The Jeanie Deans Lounge on the Main Deck offers a relaxing atmosphere with excellent views of the passing scenery. A selection of hot and cold drinks are available as well as stronger refreshments.
- The Talisman Bar located beneath the Dining Saloon offers a relaxing atmosphere serving a range of stronger refreshments.
- Souvenir Shop Make sure you pick up an exclusive memento of your time aboard the World’s last seagoing paddle steamer.

we should arrive in Southend by 12.30 where you will have time for some lunch and a wander before our ship departs at 4.15
Once on Southend pier please allow sufficient time to purchase train tickets and take the train down the pier
please be at the departure point to board the ship at leas 10 minutes before the departure time – boarding will close 5 minutes before departure time.
we will sail to Tower Bridge where it will open especially for us
we should arrive at Tower Bridge at 20:00 where our coach will be waiting for us to take us home.
the cost will be £85pp either pay in full at time of booking or a non refundable deposit with the balance to be paid 4 weeks later
Important Travel Information and Instructions
Contact Information
To ensure you receive your travel reminder and payment details if you choose pay in two please remember to send a text message to the group mobile number: 07304 044920. This will allow us to store your number in advance and make sure your reminder is sent in a timely manner. If you have chosen to pay in two it enables me to send you via whatsapp all payment details. It is your responsibility to message me. We also create a WhatsApp group for each event for any updates – this gets deleted once the event is over.
Pick Up Points and Travel Reminders
Before completing your booking, you will be asked to select your preferred pick up point and time. It is important to make a note of your chosen pick up location and time, as reminders for your pick up will not be sent until the day before travel.
Providing Additional Information
During the checkout process, there is a ‘note’ box available. Please use this space to share any information you would like us to have prior to your journey. If you do not travel well by coach or require a seat nearer the front, please include this request at the time of booking. While every effort will be made to accommodate seating preferences, we cannot guarantee a front seat due to the high number of similar requests.
Order Confirmation and Tickets
After you have placed your order, you will receive a computer-generated confirmation email. Please note that, although this email may indicate that tickets are attached, these are not your entry tickets. All tickets are held by us and will be handed to you as you board the coach.
Special Requests
If you have any special requests, we will always do our best to accommodate them. However, please understand that we cannot guarantee all requests will be fulfilled.
Travel Plans and Reminders
No detailed travel plans will be sent out in advance. Instead, a reminder will be sent to your mobile phone the day before your scheduled travel. It is therefore essential that the lead booker’s name and mobile number provided on your order are those of the person actually travelling.

Park at the rear of the store where there are no restrictions – we will pick up at the bus stop opposite the petrol station as you drive into Tesco
GREAT ASHBY BUDGENS – SG1 6NH
The coach will pick up at the entrance of the free car park
LYTTONS WAY SG1 1XT – either outside railway station or opposite railway station
HATFIELD GALLERIA AL10 OXY – park Mcdonalds side – walk out to main road and at the side of the building by The Odeon and opposite the Aldi sign you will find the bus stop
BOREHAMWOOD BARNET LANE WD6 2RN – bus stop is on the left as you turn right on A1 by Morrisons
